Reykjavik

Spent today milling about the hipster/cultural hub of Reykjavik. Of the ~330,000 people who inhabit Iceland, almost 2/3rds of them live the in the greater Reykjavik metro area. Legendary for its late night locals party scene and such creatives as Bjork and Sigur Ros, I was very curious to see what it was all about. Turns out it's actually pretty cool, albeit the tourist hub as well. Kind of a mix of San Francisco, Austin, and some old-world charm with narrow cobbled streets mingling with mod architecture and sprawling 'burbs. It has the highest concentration of coffeeshops that I've ever witnessed, and I lived in Boulder for 4 years! [And not a single Starbucks]
"Knit-bombing" Reykjavik style
best hotdog ever- topped with beer mustard, tartar aoili and crunchy fried onion bits
hipster bar having a street party, complete w/ accordion player
at the apparently defunct bicycle collective
someone left me a surprise gift... it was tasty!
